iPADS FOR INSPIRATION

In 2017 we celebrated our 70th Anniversary and in recognition we launched the “Ipads for Inspiration program”

Update.. thanks to our generous donors we granted more than $152,800 to groups and organizations for equipment for their lending libraries .. THANK-YOU

Ipads have proven to be a useful tool to bridge communication challenges for young children with a myriad of disabilities.

MEET CHARLIE

Charlie is a curious and playful five-year-old boy who loves to be outside. He has a genetic disorder that has resulted in a global developmental delay. Charlie has limited speech and it is difficult to understand him, so he is learning to use symbol communication. Charlie now communicates by using symbols on an iPad. His iPad allows him to communicate with his learning team, his family and siblings.

IPADS INSPIRE

iPads provide children with disabilities the opportunity to improve their

communication, fine motor, and cognitive skills. Communication skills are fundamental for participation in family activities, school and for long-term social development.

This unique program provided a grant of up to $10,000 to groups and organizations in Alberta who provide services to children with disabilities.

Funds are to be used to develop a resource library for children with disabilities

We continue to receive applications for this program
